The Qotbābād neighborhood, located within the historical fabric of the city of Kerman, is among the oldest urban quarters of the city, with a documented history spanning more than five centuries. An analysis of historical and documentary sources indicates that from the Safavid to the Qajar periods, this neighborhood functioned not only as a center of religious and educational activities, but also as a key arena for the formation and continuity of Kerman’s social, economic, and political relations. The present study seeks to re examine and analyze the position of the Qotbābād neighborhood mosque as the cultural and religious core of the quarter and to clarify the role of its endowments (waqf) in shaping the local economy. By considering the mosque together with its associated structures and their functions, this research aims to present new findings on the neighborhood mosque, its existing inscriptions, and the historical transformation of the mosque’s name and physical structure. Through this approach, the prevailing cultural, economic, and political landscape of the Qotbābād neighborhood is reconstructed in a comprehensive manner.
